IN 1857 HE CONSTRUCTED ALL THE THE BALANCE SCALES FOR THE U.S. MINT. HE SOON BRANCHED OUT TO ALL KINDS OF SCALES. HIS FIRST MAJOR FACTORY WAS BUILT IN 1862 AND SOON AFTER HE STARTED MAKING THIS MODEL SCALE FOR THE CHEMISTRY AND PHARMACEUTICAL MARKETS.
