Description: This is an original 1882 German-language zoology textbook, once owned by famed Harvard professor and researcher William McMichael Woodworth. Woodworth did his undergraduate study at Harvard, graduating in 1888, and received his Ph.D from Harvard in 1891. He was a zoology instructor at the university until 1897, when he became an assistant at the University Museum, a post he held until his death in 1912. The book was printed in Stuttgart, and the title translates to "The Origin of the Double Deformities in the Higher Vertebrates". It measures approx. 7 1/2 x 11 inches and has 226 pages plus several pages of illustrations in the back. Woodworth's library sticker is affixed to the inside front cover. As you can see, it has quite a bit of wear, as you might expect in a 140 year old book, but it's still solid and fully intact. A great collectible for anyone interested in science or just the collector of odd volumes. Please read my condition details above and be sure to examine the photos closely for yourself.
