Description: Back in the 19th century after the Civil War, trade cards with politicians or candidates on them were quite popular since their cartoons were so wonderfully rendered. When a presidential candidate and their running mate are shown, as in this 5.25" x 3 3/8" card advertising Capadura cigars, cross collectors from political, tobacco, advertising, locals and the like can escalate their prices in a competitive market. Here, 1884 democrat presidential nominee, Stephen Grover Cleveland and his veep, Thomas Hendricks are seen exchanging pleasantries while puffing on their stogies with the U.S. Capitol in the background. Note Tom calls him Governor, since Cleveland was New York Governor at the time of his election, and Hendricks is called Senator, the office he held from Indiana. This is in nice condition but please look at our images to judge condition for yourself so you can be happy with your purchase since it does show some age. We are members of APIC and sell only authentic presidential (and other collectible) material so buy with confidence. We'll be happy to combine S & H costs on multiple purchases even though eBay says we won't. We just issue a refund for any overpayment. Shipping on this will be $5.50, carefully packed with tracking. 8159
