Description: It is an authentic engraved antique map approximately 135 years old with original handcoloring and multiple folds as issued. It is a large folding map from the Atlas Universel et Classigue de Geographie by MM. Drioux and Ch. Leroy, published in Paris in 1885, a facsimile copy of the title page is included for authenticity. Overall, a very nice large map of France with an insert of the Department of the Seine with Paris and mountain charts of the Alps and Pyrenees along the bottom. Size: The map image measures approximately 18 by 24 inches (45x60cm) on a 21 by 27 1/2" (55x70cm) page with a margin all around, as seen in the main pic. Condition: It is in Good to Very Good condition for its age, blank on reverse, with original hand coloring and multiple folds as issued (3 vertical and 1 horizontal fold). There is light edge wear, a crease on the bottom right corner, browning and spotting in the margins, slight tears at the intersections of the folds, minor splitting at the bottom of the folds. Otherwise, the map image is very clean with strong color and an overall antique quality that would frame up nicely, see the pics for more on condition. The pics are of the actual map.
