Description: Spectacular original full color poster with GORGEOUS graphics advertising The New York Evening Journal newspaper. 9 x 14.5 inches. Has some real size to it but it’s not too big. Perfect size for framing and actually putting on the wall. Very small text in upper right identifies that this poster was issued as a supplement to the New York Journal on Sunday September 27th, 1896. The mostly blank back has some surface paper loss (apparently from once being mounted in a very large album or relating to a previous framing). The front is Excellent and absolutely magnificent. As seen in photos, this is a beautiful piece! This must be incredibly rare. I have been unable to find another example for sale past or present, or in auction result data bases anywhere including Worthpoint. The only example I have been able to locate is in the collection of the United States Library of Congress's Prints and Photographs division and is featured as a highlight downloadable poster illustration online: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:%22Why_this_ain%27t_the_New_York_Evening_Journal%22_LCCN2014650145.jpg With no other sales with which to compare, I have had no choice but to make up the price. I think it is worth every Penny but if you think it’s too high.,,make an offer!
