Description: 1896 William McKinley Presidential Campaign Exceptional Glazed Cotton Textile “Poster” This 1896 campaign “poster” is actually an elaborately produced textile (also referred to as a banner) as this is a glazed cotton display (and much more expensive to produce than a paper poster). Of course as can easily be seen it is the same size and displays very much like a poster. Measures 21 x 32 inches. I don’t think there’s any need for me to describe the elaborate graphics. There’s a lot going on here! A tremendous amount of thought and care were obviously invested in the art and design, as well as materials, by the producer (identified in lower right as Albert H Henderson). One of the best of all display pieces of the 1896 presidential campaign. I have had this for over 30 years. The few flaws as seen could be addressed but I have always liked it exactly as it is. For decades before it was previously owned by legendary collector Kenton Broyles. Also of special note: This is the plate specimen from the Hake book. I apologize for any glare from the plastic covering in some of the photos (which is ideal for handling, storage and shipping until framed!)
