Description: 1897 Receipt - an ornate receipt with an American Eagle design at the left side. Dated August 27, 1897, Received of Geo. E. Ware Theo (? Spelling) Ltd. Oil Co.. The company name below may be C. F. Sauer (?). This came to me in a group of ephemera related to Richmond businesses, and some also made out to the same Geo. E. Ware. Size is about 3 1/4" high x 7 7/8" across. Condition issue: there are a couple pieces OUT of the top edge as well as small nick on the top edge.. Evidence of a pin having been attached at the right side with pin holes. Folded twice, few indents.
