Description: I have here for sale a book entitled OUR BIRD FRINEDS by R.KEARTON- ILLUSTRATED BY PHOTOGRAPHS TAKEN DIRECT FROM NATURE by C.KEARTON. Richard Kearton FZS, FRPS (2 January 1862 – 8 February 1928) and Cherry Kearton (8 July 1871 – 27 September 1940), brothers, were a pair of British naturalists and some of the world's earliest wildlife photographers. They developed innovative methods to photograph animals in the wild and, in 1895, published the first natural history book to be entirely illustrated by wild photographs. Published in 1900 by CASSELL & COMPANY, London. Bound in green linen boards. Gilt illustration and title lettering to the front board. Gilt title lettering to the spine. Board edges and spine are sunned. Slight bumping to the board corners and spine ends. A couple of marks to the back board. Patterned endpapers. Foxing on the tissue guarded frontispiece otherwise pages are generally clean and bright. This book is in very good condition, tightly bound with no loose or missing pages xvi,215pp plus advertisements. 20cm x 14cm. Postage and packing : I know that you will be looking forward to receiving your order, each book is carefully wrapped in packing paper ( I have changed from bubble wrap to try and reduce my use of plastic) and posted in a Jiffy bag if size permitting, if not it is double wrapped in corrugated cardboard, brown paper and then securely taped.
