Description: Antique PH Leonard Vienna Austria Hand Painted Scalloped Porcelain Plate Pastel Tea Roses Pink & White Motif Pottery Ceramic Floral Charger This is a lovely antique porcelain plate that is hand painted with very pretty flowers. The lovely motif consists of clusters, sprays and individual blossoms of large pastel pink and white roses nestled among soft tan foliage. These Vienna imported pieces were meant to replicate the china previously made at the Royal Vienna Manufactory - a very pretty display plate! The Vienna Austria mark with double shield and crown is usually associated with the PH Leonard Company, circa 1890-1908, an importer from New York City. The same mark was then used by Bawo & Dower, then Charles L. Dwenger and finally by Paul A. Straub in 1915 - all of these firms were New York based importers. The bottom of the plate has black/brown spots on the underside of the rim that cannot be cleaned off and seem to be an original manufacturer flaw. The top of the plate is in good condition with no chips or crazing. See photos for condition. Sold as is
