1900s SPA Eyewear Frames 12K Yellow Gold Filled Oval Wire Rims Antique & Case

Description: These oval wire-rimmed glasses are marked "S.P.A." on the C-nose bridge. i have not identified the associated maker. No markings on the thin wire temples. Assume these are the standard gold filled ratio I see on all other gold filled glasses (1/10 12K GF). C. 1900. Light brown case has prescriber's name embossed on top exterior. Case reads "Glasses by ~ Broome Optical Co. ~ Lubbock, Tex.". This is not the original case to the frames, as it dates from the 1950's. Glasses Dimensions: Temple length (screw to ear bend): 4.25" (10.85 cm) Width (screw to screw): 4.5" (11.5 cm) Bridge: 7/8" (2.5 cm) Lens: 1.5" Wide x 1-1/4" Tall (3.4 cm x 3.1 cm) Condition: Metal frames in decent used condition. Most mentionable issues: 1) Left thin temples appears to be a steel replacement and has corrosion spots, and 2) right temple shows slight out-of-alignment bend, and 3) right temple swings out widely (needs to be tightened). No issues I can see for their use as replacement Rx. No temple wraps, but that is to be expected on this frame type. Lenses free of chips, flakes, flea bites, or cracks. Case is in good condition for age. Interior velvet is clean and well attached. Original prescriber paper gold embossing outside case is in excellent condition.Always happy to pass through discounts on combined shipping.
