Description: 1902 – 1906 Walnut Swedish American Crank Wall Phone - Needs cleaning, but has the potential to look beautiful! It rings when cranked. Shelf broke; end absent. Can supply a newer shelf. Nice chrome banded magneto with SA on them. This SA crank phone is mounted on a board which is 28" x 9", the phone is 24" tall, 8" wide, 12" deep and weighs 30 lbs (about 40 lbs in shipping box). About one out of every 100 wood wall CTPFF (Cathedral Top Picture Frame Front) phones were walnut. More Kellogg's then any other. Walnut for use in furniture phased out after the turn of the century; walnut trees were used up and then replaced by oak. I've not kept much, even though I'm #45 in the ATCA since 1972 or 1973. But it'd be tempting to refinish this phone and hang it in the house. Swedish Americans were distinctive. They didn't cut corners.
