1904 Fan Craze Pocket Edition of the National Game Box Cards Board Instructions

Description: This is for an original 1904 Fan Craze baseball card game which comes complete with its original box, playing board, instructions, 48 cards to play the game and 6 instruction cards. It also comes with 11 brass “pins” to keep track of the runners, balls, strikes and the score. The box top and bottom have some splits, and the top has a small piece missing from one side, but a true hobbyist could easily make the correct repairs. Both boxes still remain solid though. All of the original cards are included with a couple having creases, but most are nice and crisp. The cards included to play the game probably made the game more interesting to play than todays games since cards such as triple play, hit by a batted ball and caught napping are just a few of the rarities included. While being more generic than its 1906 Fan Craze counterpart which featured photos of actual ballplayers on the cards, this is a complete card game and one of the first baseball “parlor” card games.
