Description: What a wonderful trio for naturalists and ornithologists. We have the National Geographic Hardcover edition of The Book of Wild Flowers published 1924 and the Book of Birds published 1927 The book of birds appears to have lost some of its' it's gilt coloration from the front cover, but interior pages are all bright and clean outside of some mild residue found in the Book of Birds which I can attest to being from the placement of found feathers from Bird Watching expeditions. I am perhaps more excited regarding the third item I found within the Book of Birds. it is from the W. M. Welch Mfg. Co. of Chicago which has a long and noted history in and to themselves. It is the Welch's Bird Note Book which was created my professor Richard H. Gerberding of Greenville, PA in 1906. It is a handy 6 page bird watching guide note book. I cannot tell you the relationship tie between Author Gerberding and the Welch MFG. Co., but it is a fascinating note book complete with a legend identification sheet which serves as a short-hand for identification traits regarding size, location, coloring, feathers, tree types, ect. Nice set of history all the way around. National Geographic books measure 7" x 10" and the pamphlet measures 4 1/2" x 7 1/2". I am truly hoping it finds the attention of someone closed related to the long history of the Welch company or Mr Gerberding himself. As I continue my living estate sale I will use the "Best Offer" format and am always open to reasonable negotiation and accommodation which I believe my impeccable feedback will attest to. Arthur
