Description: Our Next President, divided back, US Capitol Building and Taft in center, excellent cond. postmarked Nov. 4, 1908, day after Taft won election Item 484212/4211 ◊ 1908 and 1910 Two Political Postcards for President Taft: his Campaign and his Summer Home Very rare and fascinating "1908 and 1910 Two Political Postcards for President Taft: his Campaign and his Summer Home." The first post card shows the United States Capitol Building in the background with a flying American flag. And positioned in front of that of course, is a photograph of Taft. This wonderful "Taft for President" Postcard measures approx. 5 1/4” by 3 1/2” and is formatted like all Photo Postcards of the time, with a divided back. This wonderful and patriotic "1908 Presidential Political Postcard" is in excellent condition. This postcard was sent through the mail and postmarked in Nazerath, MI on Nov. 4, 1908 … one day after Taft won the election. The image is clean, and crisp, with strong contrast and rich tonality. There is no soiling, and there is only a small amount of wear at the corners … no edge wear. The second historical postcard show's President Taft's Summer Home in Beverly, MA" The postcard measures approx. 5 1/2” by 3 3/8” (14 cm X 8.5 cm.) and it also has a divided back.It shows the turn-of-the-century house surrounded by a beautiful lawn and trees. And offset to one side is a photo of President Taft. The postcard was used. The sender sent it to his sister in Ann Arbor, MI. The card was cancelled on July 20, 2010. The 1 cent stamp has also been cancelled.This wonderful, patriotic, ""c1910 President Taft postcard" is in excellent condition.
