Description: This is an absolutely stunning green guilloche enamel belt buckle and button set, hallmarked as Birmingham silver dated 1908.The enameling is gorgeous and set off by the sterling silver setting.The cased set was crafted by Deakin & Francis, one of the premier makers at the turn of the 20th century.These top-of-the-range sets very rarely come up and this one's a cracker.It would be wonderful to see it on a bespoke couture outfit as the quality of the craftsmanship shines out from the box. It's a delight to look at.This one was retailed by West and Son, the best silversmiths and retailers in Dublin, and first established in 1720 (and later the holder of Queen Victoria's royal warrant).It will have been eye-wateringly expensive in its' day and was aimed at the very elite of Dublin society... *** I have polished up the buckle and will photograph it in tomorrow's daylight.
