Description: 1916 Letter to the Secretary of War w/ Response from the War Department War 1812Both the letter to the Secretary of War and the Response (attached to the back) form the War Department are both in good condition.Both have original Signatures and are dated 1916.The original letter is asking if Abner Decker of Wayne Co, Kentucky was a member of Andrew Jackson's Army in New Orleans during the War of 1812.In the response from the Adjutant General office in the War Department, confirms that Abner Decker served as a Drum Major in the 115th Regiment.
