Description: Item up for sale is a wonderful first edition hardback book of poetry by Sir Rabindranath Tagore titled "Stray Birds". Book was published in 1916 by The Macmillan Company with a full color frontspiece illustration by Willy Pogany. Book has 91 numbered pages which show yellowing consistent with age throughout. Hinge paper between pre title page and title page and rear cover boards shows splitting which has caused looseness from the bound pages and interior of the spine so new owner should use care when handling. Front and rear cover board show wear around edges and corners with surface wear and discoloration. Spine shows wear along butt and crown of spine consistent with age and shelf wear. Interior of the rear cover board shows markings that look to be from an old crayon. Book measures 7-5/8" front to back by 5-5/8" wide by 0-5/8" in depth.
