Description: Up for sale today is a scarce Mule 1917 $2 Bracelet Back Legal Tender. This is the Fr 60m with Speelman-White signatures on the front, but printed with a leftover old Burke back plate. These are much rarer than you would think. The Fr 59m Elliott-White Mule is fairly common but almost all of the Burke back plates were retired before printing the Fr 60. There are currently 53 of the Fr 60m known, accounting for less than 1% of the population. I actually see 3-4 Fr 60* star notes come up for sale for every one Fr 60m Mule note. This note should be quite a sleeper and appreciate nicely once people realize the rarity. This particular bill also features a nice 4-of-a-kind serial number. The note grades a nice Choice Fine in my opinion with even, honest circulation. Still has good color and no pinholes. Please check scans and judge grade for yourself.
