Description: This is a gem of a little book. Evangeline by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Published in 1918 by Barse & Hopkins, NY. This lovely little book comes in its original box and still has the vellum paper book cover, which has a few tiny tears. The box and cover are a sort of mottled tannish which may look damaged in the photos but there are no stains etc... this is the original look of the book and box. Inside you'll notice that the pages have rough edges ... and to my amazement I found that there were several pages in the book that had not been cut ... so apparently it has just been stashed away for all these years. I did find one page with a small tear that I showed in photos. It's really a nice little package, just filled with charm and wonderment. Someone will just love it.
