Description: One of our favorite key date issues from the early 20th Century, the 1918/7-D overdate rivals the 1916/1916 and 1937-D 3-leg for the most highly sought variety in the Buffalo Nickel series. The 1918/7-D is rare in Uncirculated grades and auction appearances are always met with enthusiastic bids. We proudly offer this select example! The sole CAC stickered example at this level with only six finer having earned CAC approval. The striking detail is impressively sharp and the underdigit of a straight-stemmed 7 is clear beneath the primary 8. Satiny smooth and richly toned with a dominant patina of olive-gold and gray with pink highlights to both sides. The eye appeal is most impressive and suggests any even finer grade! - Buffalo Nickel
