Description: 1919 UNITED STATES RAILROAD COMMISSION PULLMAN CAR PASS NATIONALIZED B&O A wonderful piece of history. In order to ensure efficient transportation to support WW1, the United States nationalized the railroads and put them under the umbrella of the "United States Railroad Administration". The US railroads were under control of the US Railroad Administration from December 28, 1917 to March 1, 1920. In this 1919 annual pass, the U.S. Railroad Commission gives L.C. Sauerhammer who was a Superintendent of Office Organization for the Baltimore & Ohio permission to occupy a Pullman car berth or seat. I can find no other pass of this type currently for sale, nor can I find any history of one being sold in the past (via Worthpoint).
