1920s C.R. 20 Fiat Fighter Airplane Candy Card V88 WILLIAM PATERSON #40 Aviation

Description: This scarce card is one in a series of 52 cards issued in Canada by the WILLIAM PATERSON Limited Company of Brantford Ontario. One was inserted into each package of DENVER SANDWICH Candy Bar They are listed as series V88 in Burdick’s American Card Catalogue, the series is entitled “Aviation Series ”. These cards use he identical images as the ones used by the Tuckett Tobacco Company of Hamilton Ontario for their C110 aviation series issued in 1929. Because of this I believe these William Patterson cards were also issued around the same era. Each card features just a beautifully rendered illustration of the featured aircraft. The illustrations were originally done by the artist F. Kenwood Giles. The back states that there are 52 cards in the series and features a description of the airplanes attributes. This card is number 40 in the series and features a C.R. 20 Fiat Fighter The Card measures 2 5/8 inches by 1 6/8 inches approximately. The card does have some edge and corner wear, but is free from major creases. I have scanned the front and back of the card fairly large so you can determine the condition for yourself.
