Metal miniatures are stripped (unless sold as New or Painted), so you can see exactly what you are getting. The Call of Cthulhu roleplay game was based upon the H P Lovecraft horror genre of books that were written from the beginning of the last century. The game is an excellent use of genre and storytelling. One of the best things about Chaosium's Call of Cthulhu game is its use of props. Being able to find and handle physical items that bring you deeper into the game is a big part of the fun. I mean how often do you find a book, or item in the game, and are handed a picture of it, or it is just described. Imagine actually handing it out in the game, to be passed round to whoever dares to look at it, and make the San check.These are Nansen passports that were created for the Masks of Nyarlathotep adventure, but could be used for any roleplaying game or as spares if you are re-running the campaign, or need extra due to some players taking a welcome break at Arkham Asylum. Each Passport comes with a sheet of clear adhesive visa decals and three passport stamps (indicating that players have paid the requisite fees to enter the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom). These may also be useful for Live Action Roleplay (LARP) within the period of issue. I think they were still valid up to 1942? These Nansen passports were internationally recognized refugee travel documents, being named after the famed polar explorer and statesman Fridtjof Nansen. These travel documents were issued by the League of Nations from 1922 to 1938, in response to the refugee crisis following WWI in which huge numbers of people were rendered stateless. There is a little artistic license with the design of these, as they are a little fancier than most real Nansen passports were, as the originals did not have the image on the front. Other subtle differences as well, as it is partly based on other standard passport designs of the period, but for all intents and purposes as a gaming aid, these are good fun. Many official documents from back then, were just stamped pieces of paper. Keepers can encourage their players to include a photo of their characters, black and white obviously (think the great escape), and enter their personal description in the appropriate spaces on page 3. The "notes" page in the back can be used to jot down important character skills, hit points, sanity level, etc., or any other data that's important to remember.
