1920s Weymann Mando-Lute Mandolin w/ Original Case. Repair Project

Description: Travel back in time with this 1920s Weymann mando-lute mandolin. There are no maker marks on it, but, having consulted a Facebook vintage mandolin group, it's is a Weymann mando-lute. Built at Weymann's old Philadelphia, Pennsylvania factory. If someone could tell us what mando-lute model it is, we'd appreciate it. Cosmetically, it looks good. There are some minimal scuffs, and scrapes on the top. The tailpiece cover is not original, but is a vintage piece. The back of the headstock is covered with a metal capping with a superb floral engraving. The back and sides are brilliant. I think they are either koa or maybe quilted maple. I'm not sure. Spruce top. Bound neck and headstock. Nice parquet trim around the top and striping the middle of the back. The action is too low. To raise the action, there are coins under the bridge. It could use a taller bridge, but we just don't have on in the shop. Some of the frets are lifted a bit, so it doesn't play all the way up the neck without buzzing. So, it could use some fretwork. It comes in its original canvas end-open case. The hinges work, but the handle is broken. Because of its good cosmetics, it's a worthy candidate for restoration. Questions? It will be well packed with plenty of new 1/2" bubble wrap and shipped in a new 32"x19"x7" stout cardboard instrument box.
