Description: This listing is for One 1 Share Certificate issued by South West Diamonds, (1920) ltd., in March 1923 at Johannesburg, South Africa.Certificate Number will be between 668 to 682. Each certificate is for 100 Shares at 5/- (Five Shillings) each. Therefore, each certificate cost £25 which was a lot of money in 1923. Dimensions are 35cm x 27cm (12" x 10.5")The actual colour is off-white with red lettering. The certificates are printed on thick heavy paper and have a deckle or feathered edge. The South West Diamonds seal has been impressed into the paper. Considering they are almost 100 years old they are in remarkable condition having sat in a safe in the dry atmosphere of Witwatersrand for almost a century. Despite their size they have never been folded in half only shaped around a share stock book and tied with ribbon; consequently they have no fold lines just a bend that could be easily removed. Please check the pictures and decide grade for yourself. This listing is for one share certificate from those in the photos. In total I have only 11 available. They will be posted curled over with a foam insert to ensure no fold lines are formed. I will always combine postage at actual cost as much as size/weight allows.
