Description: A beautiful, VERY RARE, limited edition, private press printing of A Hundreth Sundrie Flowres , whose authorship is of great dispute. Printed at the revered Shakespeare Head Press on Batchelor's Kelmscott paper. This volume is #50 of 50. The text of this edition has been prepared from that of the first edition of 1573. After an introduction this is a facsimile (reprint matching the original). It is a collection of outstanding, highly regarded poetry. Here is one discussion of the authorship hinting it is Chaucer (there are many others) - https://public.wsu.edu/~delahoyd/shakespeare/hundreth.html The book itself is bound in the style of a 15th century work, with parchment and with gilt title applied to spine. A piece of tape stripes each board, perhaps by design, or perhaps to hold the inside flap of the parchment until the pastedown could be applied. There's a high quality printing and very collectible.
