Description: Scarce antique ca. 1926 restaurant ware bread or side plate. It was made expressly for the iconic The Homestead Resort, Hot Springs, Virginia. This was (and still is) the place to go for a special occasion such as a honeymoon, vacation getaway or anniversary. Much history is behind the place, established in 1766 and still in business now as the Omni Homestead, Hot Springs Resort. This plate is dated 1926 The plate is signed as being furnished by the B.H. Field Co. of New York in 1926 (restaurant ware distributor). It was manufactured in Bavaria. The plate was manufactured by the Carl Magnus Hutschenreuther Porcelain Company in their Black Knight line of dinnerware for export. This is a wonderful addition to any restaurant ware or hotel ware collection. Measures 6-1/4" in diameter. Excellent condition. No cracks chips or stains. You can expect some light utensil marks in the center. Glaze is still quite glossy. Please take a look at the photos as they describe the plate best.
