Description: This Underwood 3 Bank types like a charm! It has a brand new platen from JJ short. New rubber feet on the machine and case + new rubber on the feed rollers. The case works excellently with a crisp snap. The steel ribbon spools are the originals that were on the machine when I got it. Brand new silk all-black ribbon from Ribbons Unlimited. In other words, you can take this out of the box and start typing! I cleaned and oiled the machine. Notice that it has both right and left-hand shift buttons, which not all Underwood 3 Banks have. This is a great machine for typing letters, short stories and poetry. It's not the quietest, but it might be one of the most fun. Kids and adults alike will enjoy using this typewriter. It has a couple of quirks: you need to put your thumb on the paper as you roll it up into place + the case seems to be from a slightly different 3 Bank... it's essentially a perfect match, but the front feet rest a little bit in front of the indents in the metal rails, as you can see in the close-up side photo, but it still rests flat/level like it should and fits in the case perfectly. Serial number is 182775, made in March of 1926. It will be 100 years old in 16 months! 10% discount for local pick up. I have a great track record for shipping typewriters and this is a very lightweight machine, so it won't be a problem at all.
