Description: This Henry Segrave card #10 from the 1927/1928 Amatller Automovilismo set has wear to the card but no creases. Numerous pictures were taken to assist with the condition and content of the card. This issue of the Amatller Automovilismo set consists of 23 cards featuring prominent drivers in Europe and the Catalonia region. Amatller is a chocolate company based in Barcelona, Spain, since 1797 and continues to operate today. They would include these cards with the purchase of their chocolate. The front of the card features the driver/riding mechanic while the back of the card has driver information written in Spanish. Sir Henry Segrave was born in 1896. He was a winner on the Grand Prix circuit and also set the Land Speed Record. He won the French Grand Prix and San Sebastion Grand Prix running for Sunbeam. In 1927, he became the first person to exceed 200mph in an automobile at Daytona Beach. He also held speed records on water where he lost his life during a 1930 speed run.
