This novel deals with motherhood and greed. A fair success, this was the first novel by Phyllis to be published in America, and received good notices by periodicals, praised by J. B. Priestley.In the original publisher's binding under the firm 'Ernest Benn.' There are variants in T. Fisher Unwin binding, priority is unknown. CONDITION In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally sound with minor shelf wear, light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities, sunning and light soiling to the spine. W. George Whiting ink inscription to the front free endpaper, dated 1933. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
