This Deco era V-neck top has a marvelous pattern of curling beige soutache that meanders and spirals in a flourish design. An exceptional 30s to 40s find from a 25-year Palm Beach collection. Ladies' Size Small (0 to 4) Measurements Bust up to 48, Waist 20 to 25; Neck to Hem 20.5 Inches Era 1940s Label None, factory made, finished with rayon faille elasticized trim inside the sleeve hems and machine-sewn buttonholes at the waist front; the soutache is also machine sewn Materials Black cotton in openwork grid pattern, this is a 1930s fabric occasionally seen in very casual clothes and summer weight casual drapery (at the time, it was often described as a 'ventilated' summer cotton); beige synthetic soutache with a raffia feel, probably a rayon blend Closure Center front pair of black plastic buttons at ribbed waist; buttonholes are backed in a short piece of rayon grosgrain ribbon Condition Good Condition Detail Very good, the soutache is a shade more beige/tan toward the upper arms and shoulders, the rayon faille casings inside the sleeve hems are about 50% threadbare with some holes, the grosgrain ribbon inside the waist front lost about a 1/2 inch of its length and has been hand-tacked back into place by the prior owner, this does not affect appearance or use Washing Instructions Dry clean in a net bag; or lukewarm hand wash (no agitation), shape and dry flat, steam if needed Please note: All measurements (bust - waist - hip) are the maximum body measurements that will fit the item.
