Description: Vintage Gio Ponti for Richard-Ginori San Cristoforo Milano Vase / Planter /Cachepot ~ Circa 1930s Overview: Rare ceramic oval vase in off-white featuring a quilted, pane-like design and flare at rim. Gio Ponti, the early 20th century master of design, was the artistic director for the Ginori factories and either designed or approved all works during the 1923-1930 timeframe when this vase was created. Brand Mark: "Richard-Ginori S. Cristoforo Milano Made in Italy" (Brown stamp on underside with two figures on wavy water, consistent with the late 1920s - 1930s as observed from pieces of a similar design) Approximate Measurements: 5 1/2” tall x 5-1/4” depth 5-3/4” x 4-5/8” at outer rim 3-7/8” x 2-3/4” at base Condition: Excellent vintage (almost antique) pre-owned condition. No chips, cracks, repairs; note some crazing on the outside glaze on one side, inside and bottom; light staining on interior base area; one tiny surface depression produced during manufacture.
