A scarce psychological work by William Moulton Marston (1893-1947) and his wife, Elizabeth Holloway Marston (1893-1993). The Marstons were psychologists and inventors, having designed an early prototype of the lie detector test. They remain, however, more famous for creating the DC superhero Wonder Woman, who William, writing under the pen name of Charles Moulton, designed near the end of his life. Elizabeth encouraged him to make the character a woman, and the design was modeled after their mutual partner, Olive Byrne (1904-1990). A wonderful piece of scientific and comic history.
