Description: 1932 Vintage Photo by ACME the Imperial Japanese Army Transport TOBA MARU of Tokyo lands in Los Angeles Harbor with crates of horses for the Japanese Olympic Equestrian Team. Coming as the forerunner of the great delegations of men and beasts which 50 nations are preparing to send for the Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles, California, July 30 to August 14, Japan's 12 highly trained horses, which will be entered in equestrian events, arrived at Los Angeles Harbor this morning. Major Shunzo Kido, Cavalry Officer in Charge of Japan's Olympic Equestrian work, arrived at the same time, and the animals were also accompanied by 8 hostlers. The riders will arrive May 28, when the horses will be put into further practice for the games. Each animal is trained in the steeplechase, cross country, individual dressage, serpentine, pirouette and other fine points in the equestrian textbook. Photo measures approximately 9.5 X 7.5 inches. Part number: AAA14283 THERE ARE A FEW MINOR CREASE MARKINGS. ALL items are more than likely going to have condition wear (small creases, corner wear, etc...) due to age and touching. These photos were meant to be handled and were by the newspapers and other media outlets before we purchased them. THERE ARE SMALL SMUDGES THAT SHOULD BE ABLE TO BE REMOVED. SOMETIMES THE MARKINGS ON THE BACK CAN BE SEEN THROUGH ON THE FRONT. IT JUST DEPENDS ON THE THICKNESS OF THE PHOTO. EVERYTHING SHOWN ON FRONT/BACK OF THE ITEM IN THE LISTING IS INCLUDED. Please take a look at the front/back photos. THIS IS AN ACTUAL PHOTO NOT SCANS!! IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE SEND US A MESSAGE!!
