Description: Description: This fabulous original advertising piece was printed in bold blue color to compliment the Black and White Alexandra Studio ice hockey player compilation and it is in a strong Very Good Plus condition with tremendous visual appeal. The picture depicts the 1933-34 Toronto Maple Leafs—a team which featured a full dozen Hockey Hall of Fame members including 9 active players. Distributed between 1932-33 and 1933-34, the V129 British Consols hockey card set is complete at 50 cards but there are only 6 known examples of the rare Harry Oliver, thereby making assembling a set very difficult indeed. Anyone completing a “deck” of 50 British Consols card pictures could turn them in for an autographed photo of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens, or Montreal Maroons. British Consols was a major hockey sponsor and did multiple promotions with inserting playing cards in cigarette packages as well as a two year set of hockey cards.
