Description: For consideration today is the finest trophy note I have ever offered. Once in a lifetime opportunity here. This is the Fr 2306 $1 1935-A North Africa Silver Certificate. This note was issued to our troops serving in North Africa in WWII as denoted by the yellow seal. What makes this note special is a dual extremely rare block and grade rarity. This is the almost never seen F-C block. While all other North Africa notes were printed in batches of 1-2 million notes, the F-C block was only a print run of just 12,000 notes. This is 100-200x rarer than all other North Africa notes, and even 14x rarer than North Africa Star Notes, of which they printed 168,000 in runs of 24,000 to 72,000 each! On top of that, this note is PCGS professionally graded a stunning Superb Gem 67 PPQ. It has perfect centering, nice embossing, and razor sharp edges and corners. It is absolutely flawless! It should easily cross over to PMG as the same grade if the new owner so desires. Needless to say, this is an extreme grade rarity for North Africa notes, and even more so to find one from the tiny batch of 12,000 in the F-C run. This top pop note is one of, if not the finest, example existing of this scarce block. A true trophy for a lucky collector out there. The census reports show that Gem 67 North Africa notes have recently sold for $1,800 and $2,300 and those were the most common R-C block. This note is almost 200x rarer than those recently sold. For perspective, this note is far rarer than almost all Star Notes of any series, rarer than 1905 Technicolor notes, and even 1933 $10 Silver Certificates, all of which had much larger print runs and are never found in this grade. Probably closest in rarity would be the couple of Gem 68 North Africa notes, which sell for $8,000-$9,000. Pricing this very fairly for its extreme rarity and trophy status. Sent with signature confirmation. Thanks for looking and have a great day!
