Trailing is the second-place finisher, Rene Dreyfus in his Alfa P3. Carlo Demand was an accomplished German artist and prolific illustrator. Motorsports artists as accomplished as Peter Helck were impressed by Demand's skill. Helck wrote about Demand: "...the very best of these works are beyond my skills. There are a dozen in the [print] set which amaze me and I believe [one of them] to be just about the finest racing bit of art I have ever seen."
