Paging Mount Palomar! but they don't even need that new 200 inch telescope to discover that the newest star of 1939 will be Carolyn Lee, the Ohio four year old who makes her screen debut in "Are Husbands Necessary?" (tentative title) at Paramount. Although she has had no stage or screen training, Carolyn already has the studio executives doing handsprings and wildly looking for more stories for her. Carolyn got to Hollywood because a friend sent her picture to an executive at Paramount. He like the youngster's looks had her come to the film capital and made tests. Carolyn didn't know anything about acting but did have the most astonishing personality and the most amazing ability to take direction that staid veterans ever had seen. She promptly went into"Are Husbands Necessary?" and worked 24 out of 48 days with Director Edward Griffith waxed more and more enthusiastic. On the completion of the picture, Carolyn went home to Martin's Ferry Ohio but the studio is determined she'll be back again for more pictures. Carolyn is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Copp, her father being an executive with a Wheeling steel company. The Copps were completely astonished when Paramount informed them that Carolyn had screen possibilities and let the youngsters take the role just for fun.
