Description: This 1942 S PCGS MS64 FS-901 Missing wing feathers Walking Liberty Half Dollar with slight toning is RARE. With a composition of 90% silver and a denomination of 50C, this uncirculated coin features the iconic Liberty Walking design with a business strike type. The coin was minted in San Francisco, United States, and boasts a grade of MS 64 with certification number 48319788 from PCGS. The variety of this coin is FS-901, and it comes with a unique MISSING FEATHERS characteristic. This Liberty Walking coin is a must-have for any serious coin collector, and it's a great addition to any collection. I've added additional photos. The reason that the feathers are missing and the abrasion scratches is because the anvil die and hammer die were misaligned causing a die clash. When this happens sometimes you will see marks from the obverse show on the reverse & vice versa. When the operator discovers this They clean the faces of each die; sometimes too much- as in this case. Missing feathers. I added the portion of the AM in AMERICA where you can see the original clashing marks that the operator didn't get- what you see here is clashing of Walking Liberty's back shoe/dress in the 'AM' of America. There are also collar clash marks obverse near her shoe .PRETTY COOL!! If you would like more photos let me know. Thank You for looking .
