These cymbals typically have a higher profile than usual, which tightens the sustain and pitch by creating tension in the metal. However, what's unique about this particular cymbal is its slightly lower profile compared to others I've seen, giving it a darker tone.The block stamp 22s seem to embody what the Zildjian Dry Complex rides were striving for: both have large, tall bells and a high curvature profile. This cymbal offers clear stick definition paired with smoky, complex tones. It delivers a full, dark crash and barely loses stick definition even at louder and faster dynamics, which is impressive.Essentially, this is a vintage Zildjian A Dry Complex Ride with even better playability than the modern versions. The cymbal has been drilled for rivets—see pictures for details. There are no issues with this cymbal aside from the typical wear you’d expect from a piece over half a century old.
