Description: For sale is a 1950s Dixie Banjo Ukulele or Banjolele. This Dixie has been fully restored, the original planetary tuners completely disassembled, cleaned and rebuilt solidly and hold tuning very well. The bottom “G” string has a small piece of polyvinyl tubing on the nut like most violin “E” strings do on the bridge. It had a silver/bronze wrapped nylon “Low G” installed before it was rebuilt, but as a “Low G” is not traditional on a concert ukulele, our pro shop decided to restring with a standard set of D’Addario Titanium Series ukulele strings, and a brand new optional silver wrapped .029” Low-G optional string will be included separately in the sale to allow the player the choice to install it if they prefer. The frets and fretboard have been leveled, crowned and polished. The action height of the strings and bridge have been adjusted and lowered to be very easy to play. The drumhead has been replaced with a custom Remo Ebony series USA made Weather King Batter head and the tension calibrated properly to have excellent resonance and maximum durability. The strap installed is a light brown Fender Ball Glove leather strap originally retailing for $49.99 and has been custom mounted around the drumhead using military-spec 750lb black paracord that can easily be untied and adjusted for the proper length of strap required for the player.
