Description: Mid-century 1950s Upsala Ekeby Kokos (Coconut) series ceramic vase, designed by Hjördis Oldfors, made in Sweden, features a matte chocolate brown finish with recessed glossy yellow stripes, signed on the bottom "UE", initialed "HJ", model number "5029". Kokos series was in production from 1954-58.Hjördis Oldfors (1920-2014) is one of the well-known representatives of the illustrious Swedish ceramic design of the 20th century. She was one of the leading designers for the Upsala-Ekeby factory in the 1950s and 1960s.
