Description: "WALT DISNEY" MOLDING & COLORING SET – Early 1950s Model-Craft, Inc./ Walt Disney Productions. Set No. 9. 19.75" x 12.25" x 2.5" highly graphic box featuring Donald Duck holding "molded" nephew. Set has original rubber molds for Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Pluto, and Mickey’s Nephew (Donald’s Nephew is missing). As with most of these sets, the molds are somewhat distorted, some have begun to harden but for the most part they remain pliable and better than usually found. Also included is a paint palette (stained from use), container of modeling powder (empty), glass bowl, brush, assorted wood modeling spoons, and original die-cut inner-box insert. As a bonus, 2 unused artist brushes on graphic card are included (from the period but probably not original to the set). Notably, the original Model-Craft 32-page catalog sold with the set is also included. It is highly illustrated and serves as a great reference for such sets (see photos). Original Brager-Eisenberg $3 price sticker still adhered on box bottom. All in all, an interesting Walt Disney craft tie-in with outstanding eye appeal. Condition is considered GOOD to FAIR with miscellaneous surface/stain/edge wear. Misc. surface scuffing & creasing on box with scattered surface/edge tears (largest being approx. 1") and 1 corner lid separation (neatly mended with clear tape). Though apparent, we feel these defects do not overshadow the overall graphic integrity of this piece. No tears or seps on catalog pages. Box graphics are still bold and very attractive (see photos). An uncommon set, especially so complete. This scarce item would make a large & impressive DISNEYANA display for the discriminating VINTAGE CHARACTER TOY enthusiast.
