Description: This vintage sextant by Cassens and Plath made in Hamburg, Germany, is a true gem for collectors and maritime enthusiasts alike. This particular piece has definitely spent some time in the sea air. It shows light corrosion and beautiful aging. It's just the kind of patina you want on a maritime item. The instrument comes with its original box, keys, certificate, and receipts. It's a complete package! Its accuracy and precision are unmatched, making it a reliable tool for navigation. The sextant's design is elegant and sleek, with a German-made quality feel to it. It is perfect for those who appreciate the beauty and functionality of antique maritime navigational instruments. The unit was certified on Dec. 9th, 1953. It appears to be fully functional. None of the lenses/mirrors are cracked or missing, and everything moves freely. The serial number, 33371, matches the serial number on the receipts/certificate. The original cleaning brush and two keys to the case are included. There were also some cleaning cloths inside the box that are aged, but I will include them as well. Please note that the plastic documents holder has cracked and been repaired. The plastic is somewhat brittle. Item will be shipped carefully packaged. Please ask if you have any questions! Thanks for looking!
