Description: This is a neat looking vintage college football game program/scorecard dated October 10, 1953 for a “Homecoming” game between home team Occidental College(“OXY”, Los Angeles, Ca.) vs. Whittier College(Whittier, Ca.). The “Tigers” vs. the “Poets”, played at Patterson Field. Whittier College by the way is best known for being former President Richard Nixon’s alma mater. And Occidental was graced by Prez Barack Obama and Jack Kemp among many others. Nice colorful artwork on the cover and a full spread Coca-Cola advertisement inside(plus a full page Bob’s Big Boy Hamburgers ad, a popular Southern California institution). 16 total pages. Scoring box inside is unscored but many of the OXY player’s names have been underlined and circled in ink on two pages. Fair/good condition with some damage/glue residue/paper loss etc. to the front cover at the bottom, some creases/bends/folds/wrinkles, staple holes at all four corners throughout , some photo album residue on the back and general wear, nothing TOO catastrophic!! Measures roughly 7 3/4” x 10 1/2” inches. Coming from a pet and smoke free home. Please see photos for condition and feel free to ask questions prior to buying.
