This is the 10 piastres note issued according to law number 50 of 1940 by the republican government and does not show the date of issue but was issued in the period September 1954 to June 1956 based on the signature El Kaissouny, who was the minister of Economy and Finance during that period. The front of the note is gray blue to black showing a group of Egyptians carrying the Egyptian flag at the time and marching forward. The group consist of a peasant with pick on his shoulder, and industrial laborer carrying a wrench and two women being led by a soldier carrying a rifle in his hand. The back is blue in color with red decoration as well as red denomination. The note is in Arabic on the front and in English on the back. The note has a water mark showing the letters "Feh" and Crowns and is located within the white oval to the left of the front. This particular note has the serial number 879828 and is series "1/12" which is shown in Arabic in the bottom center of the front and in English in the top left. It is signed by Abdel Moneim El Kaissouny, minister of economy and finance of Egypt in the period September 1954 through June 1956. The note was printed by the Survey Agency of Egypt. I would grade this banknote as a nice very fine or much better with all the details being well preserved. The note has several minor folds and some minor wrinkling. It shows signs of circulation with light soiling but no observable staining. It s colors are still vivid and fairly fresh with minimum fading of any. The note has no graffiti, no pinholes, no tears, and no splits. The edges are intact and show minimum roughness. The corners are intact with minor rounding but have some bumps and creases.
