Since 1931, the Bronze Alpha Rho Chi Medal has recognized graduating architecture students for their leadership and service and what they offer the future of the profession. Judged by the faculty of each school, the medal honors the graduating student who has shown an ability for leadership, performed willing service for his or her school or department, and gives promise of real professional merit through their attitude and personality.Alpha Rho Chi believes strong leaders are just as essential as strong designers. The Bronze Medal program was established to recognize qualities not necessarily pertaining to studio and scholarship. Note: Membership in the fraternity is not a criterion for awarding the medal, nor does the award confer membership in the fraternity. Each accredited institution of architecture in the United States and Canada may award the Bronze Medal to one (1) graduating student each year — no exceptions.
