For only time in Olympic history, the equestrian events were held separately from the other Olympic events that were contested in Melbourne, Australia. This was due to Australia's strict animal quarantine laws that were in effect at the time. Only 158 competitors participated in Stockholm. The medal is bronze, uni-face, and about 42mm x 50mm.
