Description: (1) 12 Page Spark Plugs Size Chart 1957(3) Punch Out Promotional Speed BoatsThis is a Champion Spark Plug Size Chart dated 1957. I found a hand full in a box that had never seen light of day so the condition is absolutely Perfect. It measures 11 3/8" 14 3/4"and hangs from a small wire tab at the top like a calendar. From a practical stand point, its 12 pages long and covers: American and European Vehicles, Trucks, Buses, Marine Engines both Inboard and Outboard, Farm and Garden Tractors, Farm Machinery, Mowers, Pumps, Saws, European and American Motorcycles and even LOCOMOTIVES! It Makes a GREAT SIGN all on its own as well so just buy it for decoration. Its a hell of a lot better than those cheap Chinese reproduction metal signs that are clogging up the Internet.American Made! These Boats were a cool little Promotional Giveaway for the kids that would go into the Auto Parts Stores with the old man in the late 1960's or Very Early 1970's. It is a Small Punch Out PAPER SPEED BOAT with the Champion Logo on it. It is on normal 8 1/2" X 11" thick stock and the perforations make it come apart Very Easily.I've seen a Rocket Ship as well, which helps date it. So, this must have been part of a series. I've also seen at least one other that was an airplane from Phillips 66.They were sitting in the back of a file cabinet in a manila envelope, and are in perfect condition. They are very displayable whether you frame it, assemble it or both. You won't be disappointed. LOOCK which was a Baltimore Institution when it came to Automobiles. They operated at the same location : 339-345 N Gay st from 1913 until the neighborhood declined and the last heir retired in 2001. They were not your ordinary cookie cutter automotive parts store like you see today. They were parts distributors as well as jobbers for their own LIGHTNIN Parts line as well as for most of the top brands of the day. They sold: Auto supplies, Replacement parts, Garage equipment, Shop equipment, Tires, Tubes, Oil, Grease, Accessories and they even had a Complete Machine Shop. This may not sound different from an auto zone except Loock was responsible for placing products such as Champion Spark Plugs, Quaker State and Gates belts (to name a VERY few products) into EVERY private and municipal garage that used them in a 5 state area. long before the internet and trade shows, these guys were road warriors that sold stuff the hard way on a massive scale. As the 22 floors of samples that they left behind will attest... thats right... I said 22 FLOORS of Samples! R.J.Loock tried to sell ANY quality product that they thought had a chance . Of course, as jobbers they were responsible for placing advertising in the businesses that they catered to as well.We were lucky enough to purchase salvage rights to this little treasure trove years ago, and this is the last of our treasures! There was no working elevator and the buildings were 4 floors tall with a basement ................................. and they NEVER threw ANYTHING of value AWAY! It took us 2 months full time to sort through and we are now coming to the end of what we have found.
