Description: 1957 D Lincoln Wheat cent.Large die gouges on obverse. At first I thought these were bag or contact marks, but they are raised and not incuse. Also bag marks are random, I have 8 coins with the exact same gouges in the same spot. the smallest of the 3 above the date has varying degrees of strength across the 8 I have but is visible on all of them. The one near the top of the 5 looks like it could be a clash or something, or perhaps a over date strike. My guess is as good as yours.
